Norwegian Auction Raises Concerns Over Nazi-Era Jewish Artefacts
2026 | Norway | Jewish Heritage Protection

Jews United investigated the proposed auction of Torah fragments and Jewish historical artefacts associated with the Nazi era in Norway, raising concerns over their provenance, possible wartime looting and the commercial sale of sacred Jewish property.
The initiative sought to establish the rightful ownership of the items, examine potential restitution claims and encourage the responsible handling and preservation of Jewish religious heritage.
Our objective is to prevent the commercial exploitation of potentially looted Jewish artefacts and ensure that sacred items are returned to their rightful owners or communities wherever possible.
